Maestro Knows – Special Edition (Blake Griffin)

February 26, 2013   Posted by Levi Maestro

I started paying attention to basketball again in 2010 when I saw a Clipper game with a friend and saw a kid named Blake Griffin. I hadn’t been excited about the game since I stopped watching in 1998 when Jordan played. The energy and intensity the Blake played with made me excited for the city of Los Angeles and for him as well. Since getting to know him through our mutual friend Kevin Love, we started shooting some of his days just after All-Star Weekend 2012. From seeing his dog for the first time to arriving at Staples Center to training at the Clippers facility, here are just a few moments inside of BG’s life.

I’m from Chicago and I also stopped watching hoops after Jordan. Blake’s athleticsm, power, energy and grace have renewed my love of the sport. I loved getting this glimpse of the real Blake. Humble, sweet, hard working…To his parents – “well done!” Having my 11 year old son watch it now! Great role model. Great video!
