Elektro-L | Earth

This photo was taken by a new Russian weather satellite called Elektro-L. This is the first major spacecraft fully developed in post-Soviet Russia, developed by NPO Lavochkin for the Russian Federal Space Agency. The imagery is said to be even more accurate and higher resolution then any image to date.

    Two reason why this is awesome:
    1. The resolution is bananas
    2. You can actually see how big Africa REALLY is… Cause looking at a map it looks half the size.

  2. I know my science teacher told me the answer but I always wondered why stars are never captured in images and (the suppose) videos from space…. Crazy resolution thou…
